Exporting group reports
Group admins can export reports for any date range from Settings > Manage Groups > Export Group Report.
Reports include total steps and distance covered by the entire group, daily avg steps per member for the group and detailed step leaderboards.
Admins can swipe (iOS) or long press (Android) on any group member to make them an admin.

Step challenge for a specific date range
We show daily, weekly and monthly leaderboards in the app. You can't see a leaderboard for custom date ranges in the app (yet), but there is a simple work around - the group admin can export a report for the desired date range and declare the winner over text/email.
Groups have hosted step challenges for date ranges from days (weekends), weeks, months, to a whole year.
Make sure to invite participants a few days before the start date, and clearly state the duration of the challenge up front.

Team vs team step challenge
Though we don't show group vs group leaderboards directly in the app, we have a simple work around.
Create multiple groups (one for each team), and run group vs group challenges based on total steps (or avg steps per member) by exporting group reports for each group, and sharing the winner/stats over email/text.
Reports include total steps and distance covered by the entire group, daily avg steps per member for the group and detailed leaderboards.

How does step tracking work with my phone?
StepUp uses your phone's built-in fitness tracker on iPhone and android phones. Your phone counts your steps from your pocket, hand or bag in the background without impacting battery.
No need for a fitness band or separate pedometer! But you can also sync steps from a fitness band via Apple Health or Google Fit if you'd like.
StepUp works with just your phone. And you can also sync steps from supported wearables to StepUp via Apple Health or Google Fit.
In StepUp, go to Settings > Sync with Wearable to set this up.

iPhone/Apple Health supported devices: Apple Watch, Jawbone, Garmin, Withings, Misfit, Pebble, Xiaomi, Mi Band and many more.
NOTE: You need to sync steps from your device to Apple Health via it's app, and you need to sync StepUp with Apple Health via StepUp settings > Sync wearable.

Android/Google Fit supported devices: Android Wear devices, Xiaomi, Mi Band, Moto 360, Garmin, Withings and many more. NOTE: You need to sync steps from your device to Google Fit and it will automatically sync with StepUp.
On Android, you can sync wearables to StepUp via Google Fit. You can sync Fitbit to Google Fit via Google's Health Connect app.

On iOS, you can sync wearables to StepUp via Apple Health (StepUp > Settings > Sync Wearable). But unfortunately Fitbit doesn't sync with Apple Health directly. So you'll need to use a 3rd party app like Sync Solver or Power Sync. Check out these posts for details.
Sign in with Google, Apple or Facebook and send friends your unique invite link. You will see them in StepUp once they tap your invite link and accept the invite.
Note: If your friends are not on StepUp yet, the invite link will take them to the app store to install it. Then they need to sign in on StepUp and tap your invite link again to add you as a friend.

If you sign in with Facebook, you will be able to automatically see your Facebook friends who have also signed in with Facebook on StepUp. You can still invite other friends who are not on Facebook via your unique invite link.

You can control which friends you see (and who can see you) in StepUp.

NOTE: We NEVER post or share your steps data anywhere.
Active Bot & Chill Bot are virtual friends in StepUp that walk about 10K & 2K steps respectively.
Many users like to pace themselves against them, and enjoy the gamified competition & motivation.

You can hide (block/remove) them if you'd prefer, by swiping left on them in the leaderboard list, or by tapping on them, and tapping on "Hide" button in the top right.
By default, no one other than you can see your steps in StepUp.
We NEVER post or share your step data anywhere.

If you add friends, then only your friends will be able to see you & your steps.
You will be able to see each other's today steps, yesterday steps, 7-day average steps and head to head record.

You can privately hide (block) any friend on StepUp and then they won't see you in StepUp, and you won't see them.
You can sign in with Google, Apple or Facebook and add friends via your unique invite link.
You can privately hide any of these friends in StepUp. You won't see hidden friends, and they won't see you in StepUp.
You can "unhide" them at anytime from StepUp settings.

NOTE: This is only within the StepUp app, and doesn't affect Facebook in any way.
My friends in StepUp disappeared. Help!
This shouldn't happen, but if it does, please try signing out of StepUp (Settings > Sign out), and signing back in. That should fix the issue. If that doesn't work, please email us at team@thestepupapp.com.

Note: If you're seeing some friends in StepUp but missing just one specific friend, it's possible that that person deleted their StepUp account, or hid you on StepUp.
StepUp uses your phone's built-in fitness tracker, which counts your steps from your pocket, hand or bag. Studies show that phone activity trackers can be more accurate than wearable activity trackers.
StepUp uses your phone's built-in step-sensor/fitness tracker, which works in the background without impacting battery. Apps that use your location drain battery, but since StepUp doesn't use your location, it is very battery friendly! :)
StepUp works on all iPhones & Android phones.
iPhones: iPhone 5s and newer phones
Android: All android phones from Google, Samsung, Moto, LG, Nexus, OnePlus, Xiami, Micromax, Karbon etc
On Android app:
Go to Settings > Delete data to delete your account and data immediately.

On iPhone app:
If you haven't signed in to StepUp, no account has been created and you can simply uninstall the app to delete your data.
If you have signed in to StepUp, then after signing in, go to Settings > Sign Out > Delete account to delete your account and data immediately. Then uninstall the app to delete local data if you'd like.
Pratik wanted to use a step tracking app that was social, engaging & fun - but was surprised to see that he couldn't find one. So he, Pranip and friends built StepUp with a mission to make being active more fun & social.
Thank you - nothing makes our day more than a happy user! :)
Our mission is to make being active more fun and social!
You can buy us a coffee to support our work on StepUp.
You can also spread the love by telling your friends about StepUp and writing a review on the App Store or Google Play Store! :)
